The STORY so far…

Country Chic established in Launceston in 2005

Country Chic brings you gift inspiration, unique homewares and interior pieces that transform your house into a home.

As a child I used to empty the kitchen cupboards, stick prices on everything and display them before insisting the family came along and pretend purchase them.

Clearly I had a dream to be a shopkeeper! In 2010 that dream blossomed into reality when I invested in the business and became a partner thus allowing Country Chic to move to larger premises, expand and grow into the much loved lifestyle store it is today.

I became the sole owner of Country Chic in 2018. The dream takes energy and enthusiasm however it is joyful and rewarding with the help of a wonderful team of staff, family and our loyal customers, many who are regular followers that we have built personal relationships with.

Here at Country Chic, the team endeavour to illustrate that we understand how staying true to our country style roots is key to building a shop with timeless appeal. Trends move with the times, products are ever-changing, we provide you with a varied range of interior inspiration from the farmhouse kitchen dresser loaded with an eclectic mix of crockery to the paired back modern rustic look.

We up-cycle pre-loved furniture using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and have been stockists since opening. Annie Sloan first developed the Chalk Paint® range in 1990 to answer the need she had for a versatile paint that would work beautifully on furniture without priming or sanding; that would be easy to use and quick to dry; and that could be used for a number of different paint techniques. She called it Chalk Paint® because of its velvety, ultra matt finish. We often run paint workshops and our staff can give advice to fill you with confidence to have a go yourself. 30 Years on and customers still absolutely love this paint!

Also stockists of many popular brands including Susie Watson Designs, Biggie Best, Cornishware, Emma Bridgewater, Tweedmill, St Eval Candles and Garden Trading.

So here we are in 2020 and the Coronavirus pandemic has certainly been an interruption but it has given an opportunity to refocus and re-ignite the passion. Thus introducing Country Chic Online… Happy Shopping!
